Julie and P.J……sonnet house in leeds alabama

Round three of the unfortunately/fortunate events of August……the wonderful oil company B.P. and their silly oil spill cost me my trip to the beach this year..but worst the Beach Wedding dreams of a very cool bride and groom. Seeing as things were looking a little funky in the region this bride and groom were fortunate to find one of the best venues in the Birmingham area open and ready to provide wedding services for them. The Sonnett House in Leeds is always a great well run venue and they did a great job once again to transfer beach dreams into Countryside dreams.:)I just loved all the little details of this wedding…I could have posted a zillion detail shots. The weather tried to mess with us a bit but fortunately we were able to see rain from inside when we didn’t really care if it was dripping…the rest of the day was a sunny/hot/beautiful day….and without further adieu, I present (Jp/Pj and Julie…wink wink..and hey man…I bet you reallllllly love me NOW!)

Caroline and Jason…cullman wedding photographer

On a beautiful, hot, sunny Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing a fun wedding in Cullman Alabama. Again the unfortunate/fortunately followed me as me and my assistant just chatted it up all the way to the church only to get there to realize he had left his equipment in the car at my house! haha fortunately I have several back up cameras so it wasn’t a problem but man did we have a laugh! I was fortunate that Caroline had been in a wedding I had done some years ago so not only did she totally get my methods of madness to create images that are fun and different but also I got to hang with my old pals Mr. and Mrs. Glass/Barton!! What fun it was catching up. Thank you wholeheartedly for having me be there to capture the beginnings of your new live together!

Jason and I are thrilled with the “Sneak Peek” of the wedding. You captured all the moments and little details of the wedding. We can’t wait to see everything. Thank you!

Unfortunately/fortunate…..

I think about these words and can not come up with anyway to kick off a lengthy blog catch up session without thinking how unfortunately-fortunate I have been these last few months. I mean unfortunately I had to have surgery but fortunately I have wonderful parents/clients and family to help me get through it..and fortunately I woke up in complete relief!:)
Unfortunately I lost probably the best dog I could ever ask for because unfortunately I didn’t do something as simple as put batteries in a collar to keep his young wondering behind in my own yard. But fortunately the breeder where we got Cooper happened to have a few step brothers of his needing a home….I miss my Pucky, but this lil furball laying his head on my lap as I type this has me feeling very fortunate.
Lastly, in the 20 weddings I’ve done so far this year my no rain streak has come to unfortunate end…..I really hate a rainy day when I am planning on beautiful garden and picturesque images of a bride and groom in a beautiful country setting, but whats worse is when it rains the entire day and threatens every aspect of the ceremony and reception…so you HAVE to feel fortunate when the skies part and sun rays come out 15 minutes before the ceremony!! Am I bummed that my whole photography plan was scraped, but again I am fortunate…I got several great shots in the end and the bride being the cool chick she is…is going to let me play with her in a dress that most likely is unfortunately ruined due to the wet conditions….again we will make it a fortunate situation! Looking forward to our upcoming play date! Without further rambling here are a few sneaks from this August wet wedding that fortunately I had the pleasure of capturing!!

Something i love about my job…

Who truly enjoys having a camera pointed at them with a person behind the camera saying..”Ok now act normal”…..not many. I love when people say things before we begin a session like..I don’t take good pictures, my smile always looks weird or my personal favorite..”I feel goofy” That only propels me to make the experience of being the one photographer in the world they actually enjoy hanging out with! I REALLY love when I get sweet emails before the person/couple has even seen the pictures…not even a peek…emails like this.. “We were both pretty nervous to be in front of the camera, but you made it fun and relaxing! I quite literally light up at these and Thank God for putting me in the position to not only make people love having pictures created but having the talent to do them.
So with that said I share these from a recent session…..hope they luv em like I do!:)
